A trip to sleepy Saturna can be rewarding for those wanting to escape all traces of city living. It is sparsely populated with around 300 people and is relatively secluded. Therein lies it's unspoiled charm.

Traveling to Saturna requires some forward planning, for the ferries, while daily, are infrequent. Accommodation is limited, and there are no public campgrounds so booking ahead is essential.
Wildlife abounds on Saturna. One can watch the goats on Mount Warburton Pike, and take in spectacular scenery at East Point, the location of some of the best orca viewing in the Gulf Islands. |
Recently, Tumbo Island off East Point and Narvaez Bay on Saturna were purchased as part of the
new Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, thereby ensuring that Saturna's rural character will be preserved.
You're sure to meet (almost) everyone on Saturna Island and many visitors at the annual Canada Day lamb barbecue.
